Storyteller, Artist and above all else - a Mama
Hi there! My name is Kelli and I am a Lifestyle & Documentary Photographer in the gorgeous state of New Mexico. I am a mountain mama, a nurturer and I believe this life is pretty damn magical.
My daughter who is full of absolute magic will forever be my WHY and how I came to the conclusion to leap back into the world of art & photography. In 2015, after a traumatic pregnancy I gave birth to a 2 lb. 5 oz miracle at 29 weeks (yes I was scared shitless). Within a week of being born she acquired a nearly fatal infection and came so very close to dying (scared shitless x infinity). Although she is thriving today, my heart shattered, my soul broke & I had to pick all of the pieces back up and slowly put them back together. This sole experience changed my entire life and made me question everything I was doing with it.
So here I am today. Photography (plus art and maybe a dash of therapy) saved my life. Since elementary school I had dreamt of being an artist but I became a Registered Nurse instead (with factory & waitressing jobs in between). I absolutely adore being an RN (I still pick up shifts) but my life was missing the extraordinary power of creativity. With the traumatic experience my daughter endured and wanting to be a positive, fierce & dream following role model for her, I picked my camera back up. I haven’t looked back since.
Being a mama to a preemie, a wife to a Purple Heart Veteran and a prior ICU nurse has granted me a unique perspective on life. I cherish little moments like kisses on the forehead, little squeezes when my husband holds my hand, the way my daughter wrinkles her nose when she laughs, snow floating majestically off the trees, closing my eyes as I let the sun warm my face and waking up to the tickle of my daughter’s bright blonde hair tickling my nose. These moments (& feelings), merely seconds are really everything. They add up to this experience we call our story. These moments are what make us smile, what fill up our soul, what makes us open our eyes every morning…
I am here to tell your story & capture those fleeting moments. I put my heart & soul into my work and I want to create emotionally driven & vibrant art for your family to cherish & pass down for generations.
If you need me I’ll be in the mountains with my husband, little girl, two dogs and four chickens. I might be traveling but I’m probably on my deck, drinking coffee and procrastinating on checking my emails or out enjoying a beautiful trail in nature.
