When I think of Mother's Day I think of my mother and how her artistic abilities inspired my own, my own mama journey, my family & friend's journey's into motherhood and all of the beautiful mamas I have photographed over the last two years. Needless to say, I am one lucky gal.
Motherhood isn't for the faint of heart or parenting in general. There are so many first moments, last moments, moments of complete joy, exhaustion and frustration. We are overfilled with love while worrying if we are doing good enough by our children. If you're like me you're trying to teach your little one that strong will & being a free spirit is a strength and figuring out how to stop anyone from breaking that amazing characteristic. Some days your fears overcome you. Some days you feel like you have your shit together. Motherhood isn't for the faint of heart. You are your child's first love. You've grown them, nourished them with food, love and patience. You are their strength when they are hurt and their comfort. You are their everything for such a short time.
These powerful thoughts about motherhood inspired me to start running a promotion in March for Mommy & Me sessions. It's so important to me for mama's to get in the frame. Most of us are on the other side of the camera, capturing every beautiful experience our child goes through but we aren't there (in pictures). Let me tell you that not one mama regretted getting in front of the camera this year and they shouldn't. They gifted their children with memories that will be passed down for generations, heirlooms if you will.
On this day, my mama heart is full.
